Vice Governor, Central Bank of Lebanon

Main Duties:

Head of the International Department – Investments of the reserves of the Central Bank., FX market intervention and member of the Central Council – the highest policy making authority of the bank.

Other Duties:

Monetary policy formulation and implementation. Member of various adhoc committees dealing with capital adequacy, chart of accounts for banks, public debt management and interest rate fixing on the Lebanese pound Treasury bills in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance.

Headed several emergency meetings at the IMF in Washington D.C.

Attended the IMF and the AMF annual Meetings as Alternate Governor in Seoul, 1985, and Governor in Amman, 1989.
